About Residency Training and Graduate Medical Education

JABSOM trains some 235 physicians annually in 18 specialty programs, including Fellowship opportunities. The physicians treat patients under the supervision of UH medical school faculty, working to gain the experience which will qualify them to be licensed and board certified. Our Graduate Medical Education programs are made possible through a partnership with Hawai’i’s major medical training centers, including the Hawai’i Pacific Health hospitals of Pali Momi, Straub, Kap’iolani and Wilcox Medical Centers, The Queen’s Medical Center, Kuakini Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Hawai’i, Castle Medical Center, Tripler, the Veterans Administration and community health centers.
