HOME Project, MD Alumni serve through “Convoy of Hope” Day

Jill Omori, MD (JABSOM 1995) and her team of capable John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) residents and medical students braved the sun and cared for patients on Convoy of Hope day (July 16) on Oʻahu, providing medical care which otherwise not be available that day.

Other University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa faculty and previous residents were also there, including Dr. Ritabelle Fernandez, who has been there every year, Dr. Glenn Pang, Dr. Craig Nakasutka, and Dr. Kristine Layugan (JABSOM grad and Pediatrician at Waiʻanae Coast Comprehensive Health Center).

Thank you for JABSOM’s support for our underserved and homeless community in Hawaiʻi.

About 800 people were provided with free medical care and screening by more than 100 doctors, nurses and other health professionals including 600 pairs of eye glasses provided, 150 dental procedures.
