SimTiki Fellow earns educator designation; capping a busy year of academic medicine and community outreach

The SimTiki Center is a state-of-the-art medical training and education center at the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), specializing in advanced patient manikin simulation training and on-line course curriculums.

The University of Hawaiʻi medical school’s SimTiki Center is sought out for its well-regarded simulation expertise, both in Hawaiʻi and throughout the Pacific. Dr. Benjamin Berg, SimTiki Director and his staff have trained a prestigious group of International Fellows in simulated patient methods, including Adjunct Adjunct Assistant Professor Yuki Moritoki, MD, PhD, (Akita University Medical School, Akita, Japan), who was recently awarded the Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) designation from the Society of Simulation in Healthcare.
