The H.O.M.E. Project, the University of Hawaiʻi (UH) John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) medical outreach to Oʻahu’s homeless, is sponsoring Flu Shot Clinics for the JABSOM, UH Cancer Center and University Health Partners (UHP) community to show its thanks for everyone’s ongoing support of the program. Vaccinations are FREE for all medical and ʻImi Hoʻōla Post-Baccalaureate Program students, $10.00 for all graduate students, staff and faculty (no insurance cards required), and $15 for people not affiliated with JABSOM or the UH Cancer Center at Kakaʻako. The clinics will be on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. in the JABSOM Medical Education Building (MEB) Room 314, and on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in MEB Room 302.

Only the inactivated quadrivalent Influenza Vaccine will be offered. Graduate students, faculty and staff, please note that depending on your insurance and your physician, you may be eligible for a free vaccine, so you may want to check with your physician first if you do not want to pay the $10.00 fee. Please bring some type of identification with you to verify that you are a JABSOM/Cancer Center/UHP student, faculty, or staff member (UH Badge will suffice).

About the Hawaiʻi Home Project:
The mission of the Hawaiʻi H.O.M.E. Project is to improve quality and access to health care for Hawaiʻi’s homeless, while increasing student and physician awareness and understanding of the homeless and their healthcare needs. The project was founded in August 2005 and currently provides free medical services to sheltered and unsheltered homeless individuals, through weekly student-run free clinics per at nine sites across Oahu. In addition to these clinics, we also utilize our mobile health van for outreach to other unsheltered homeless populations on Oahu and to provide special events for the keiki at the shelters.

Hawaiʻi H.O.M.E. Project is a John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) student-run free clinic staffed by volunteers, including University of Hawaiʻi premedical students, JABSOM medical students, University of Hawaiʻi and Tripler Army Medical Center resident physicians, University of Hawaiʻi faculty and community attending physicians.
