The University of Hawai’i (UH) made a strong showing at the 21st annual Annual Men’s Walk Against Domestic Violence in Downtown Honolulu on October 8, 2015. UH medical school Dean Jerris Hedges, MD was Honorary Chair of the March, for the second year in a row. And the turnout was spectacular, with marchers from all walks of life, from high school students, to recovering drug addicts to prosecuting attorneys. And they were joined by a large contingent of UH student groups, athletes and top UH Mānoa Coaches.
In our video, in addition to Dean Hedges, we hear from UH Baseball Coach Mike Trapasso and UH Basketball Coach Eran Gonot, who helped inspire their athletes to join in sending a strong visual message that violence doesn’t belong in the home or on the job.
