When heavy rains triggered the worst flooding on Kauaʻi and part of Oʻahu last month, volunteers lent a hand to those in need.
One of the volunteers was Dr. Chien-Wen Tseng, Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Hawaiʻi John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM), and member of the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force.
Dr. Tseng volunteered with ʻĀina Haina Prepared, whose members helped to clean-up after what was the worst flooding to strike in East Honolulu in 30 years.
“Volunteers went house to house affected by the flooding, to help families clean debris, and also to the ʻĀina Haina library which was flooded,” said Dr. Tseng.
