Every year since 2014 it has been our pleasure to videotape our John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) MDs as they march into the Stan Sheriff Arena in the University of Hawaiʻi Commencement Exercises. It is a short walk, but a long journey and as they leave our medical school for additional training and their careers as physicians we take one last look at them celebrating with pomp and circumstance and hoots and hollers!

The John A. Burns School of Medicine is also proud this week of our graduates in our Biomedical Sciences with concentrations in disciplines including Tropical Medicine, Cell and Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Clinical Research, Developmental and Reproductive Biology, and in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Medical Technology. We congratulate our seven new PhDs, a new Doctor of Tropical Medicine, 19 new holders of Master’s degrees and 13 of Bachelor’s degrees awarded by JABSOM during May’s Spring Commencement Exercises. One of our PhD’s, Dr. Jonathan Yap, is shown in our video at the head of the Commencement line.
